Depict! Rubber Guillotine Short Film Analysis
Rubber Guillotine By Bryan M. Ferguson, UK
Rubber Guillotine is about a Scottish teenage girl who goes against her parents wishes on her future and has a bizarre idea that she wants to donate her skeleton into gelatin.
Its a very stylish 60's looking film, lots of bright colours are used such as on the teens clothes and even her hair. Throughout she wears a long pink t-shirt connoting femininity. The green, graffiti styled creditials at the beginning of the film along with the long shot of her walking down the street with a baggy American flag jacket slung on her shoulders as a quite punky soundtrack begins to play, this is suggesting that the narrative is about rebellion as the voice over uses a lot of profanity, and the music is quite heavy.
